New Around Here
Good evening,

I've done a few searches on here and haven't found the answer I'm looking for. Perhaps I'm looking up the wrong terms but I was wondering if you guys could help me out.

I have a RT-N66U running Merlin 376.49_5. I have my OpenVPN server set up. However it seems that when I have the firewall enabled on the device, it cannot connect on my laptop.

Can anyone perhaps shed some input as to what firewall rules I may need to create to allow the connection to be established?

Some background on my environment:
  • Actiontec FiOS router is the primary router
  • RT-N66U is configured as a DMZ host on the Actiontec
  • OpenVPN allows connections when FW is off on RT-N66U.
Edit:
So through additional research, I will need to enable JFFS and configure IP tables to allow my OpenVPN port.

I found these two articles which I will use to assist me in creating the rules. But I just wanted to get everyone's buy in to see if I'm on the right track with them.

I previously used DD-WRT before and was accustomed to seeing a shell option within the interface. So this is new to me.

Thanks!
