Opinions/experiences with OSes for hardware firewalls?

I just found Sophos UTM. I don't know why I didn't think of this before, it's very well-known.

I'm trying to see if I can evaluate it in a VM. I'm not sure, it comes with a single-use license.

I have not tried the others as Sophos was my first choice and I love it.
The free Home license is for one UTM but it allows all features (many of them are Enterprise so not needed) and you can have up to 50 devices (IP addresses) behind the UTM.

I was surprised that it worked after install with default setup and configuration for my devices / software has been really easy to learn, plus there is a really good user forum for support. It even gives you free Endpoint AV and monitoring for 10 devices.
The only thing that does not work is the Wireless (it only support Sophos APs) however I use my own Asus AP connected to my internal switch.
