I'm using Merlin 378.52_2 on an Asus RT-AC3200.

For Parental Controls, I have device access set for 9am to 9pm for my daughter's iPod touch. It is properly blocking the internet (cannot surf web sites); however, iMessages are still going though.

Why would iMessages still be delivered if supposedly the internet is blocked?

It looks like a router reboot is needed after changing parental controls. After I rebooted the router, time limits worked as prescribed for everything including imessage.

Interesting - I have a AC68-U, and am on the same firmware, and have not had to reboot following changing time limits. Have found a reboot is needed to set DNS controls, as that forces a disconnect of the wifi and reconnection.
I wonder if it was when you *first* set the controls up that a reboot is needed, as it has to start up the DPI engine, and make sure the internal rules are all in place.
