Hi All,
I'm was mulling over the UBNT EdgeRouter X for SOHO installs and was wondering if I could power a non-UBNT access point, like a TL-WR843ND, connected to and powered over eth4. I'd probably power it with a 24V 2A or 2.5A 2.1mm barrel power supply. In theory this seems like it would work, but I'm not sure if I've overlooked or missed anything that would nullify any other APs besides UBNT models, other than the non-standard voltage... (it's late, brain is tired).
Any comment or corrections are welcome, thanks.
Edit: Err... probably better asked on their forums, I know, but this probably gets at the heart of the matter: https://community.ubnt.com/t5/EdgeSwitch/passive-PoE-24V-wihch-pairs-are-used/td-p/993175. Looks like I'll have to do some checking out as to the exactness of the wiring schema.
