I'm having some stable connection issues with a new 2.4 GHz client (furnace thermostat) and wondering how best to debug. Connects OK via WPA2 Key but then drops at seemingly random times. Reconnect fix seems to require router reboot. Signal strength is fine, no other 2.4 GHz client issues.

What internal firmware tools are available within the AC66U running v380.62 of Asuswrt-Merlin that might help find cause of problems? Recommended method to identify issues?

(Found problem Client DHCP interactions with router by MAC ID in the Syslog but that doesn't appear to reveal much...)

Thanks.

Is the 2.4GHz band using 'Auto' channel? Is the mode 'Auto' (it should be)?

Test each non-overlapping channel for a day or two before deciding which one gives the best stability, performance and lowest latency (for your other devices on that band). The non-overlapping channels are 1, 6, 11, btw. :)

Thanks for the feedback.

Wireless Mode is "Auto" with "Optimized for Xbox" disabled (unchecked), "b/g Protection" enabled (checked), 20 MHz "Channel Bandwidth" and Control Channel set to 11 - All configured as such for many months with NO problems of any kind with other Clients connecting or disconnecting to the wireless 2.4 GHz band.

Any logs or other router diagnostics to check for clues?

I'm having the same issue. My 2.4GHz is having issues but my 5GHz works perfect. I created a guest network 2.4GHz which does not have any issues....My next step is to factory reset to see if it fixes it...

Cleared my log and attempted to connect my PS4 to 2.4GHz....Tried it twice fails with a timeout. I am able to connect to my Guest 2.4GHz

What is your furnace brand/model? You may have EMI problem originating from furnace/furnace.
