Having just announced its TVS-x82T Thunderbolt 2 NAS series in May, Qnap now introduces the TVS-x82 series of business NASes. Available in three models, the new lineup combines disk and flash storage, and are powered by 6th generation Intel processors.

Each model in the new TVS-x82 series includes hot-swappable SATA 6Gbps/3Gbps SATA drive bays, two M.2 SSD cache slots, four GbE ports, three HDMI ports (two HDMI 1.4b and one HDMI 2.0), 3rd Generation PCIe slots, five USB 3.0 ports, an audio jack, and two built-in speakers.

GPU passthrough is possible with the 450 watt versions of the TVS-1282 and TVS-882, for virtualizing higher end graphics.

The TVS-x82 series uses Qnap’s Qtier technology, giving small businesses the opportunity to use the NAS’ tiered storage for improved application and virtualization support. Hypervisors supported on the TVS-x82 series include VMware, Citrix, and Hyper-V, while Qnap’s own Virtualization and Container Station apps support Windows, Linux, Unix, Android, LXC and Docker instances.

QNAP’s VJBOD technology supports storage expansion by attaching additional QNAP NASes to the TVS-x82 NAS.

The TVS-x82 series includes these configurations:

TVS-1282: Eight 3.5”/2.5” hard drives, four 2.5” SSD slots and 3 PCIe slots:

The 450watt version costs 300 dollar on top of the 250watt price that you already payed!!
When I check the pricelist of qnap for replacement parts I see that the 250 watt power supply costs 150 dollar , so you pay 150+300=450dollar for the 450 watt power suply and then you stillm need to pay a graphics card of 250 dollar at minimum, I do not recommend buying the 450watt

However if you really want it, just buy the 250watt nas version and buy the 450watt powersupply on the qnap store, there it costs 200 dollar (100 dollar cheaper then when you buy it build-in) + you'll still have the 250watt powersupply as a reserve :)

Even 200dollar for a 450watt power supply is extreemly expensive, normally 450watt powersupply's from other brands cost 50 dollar ...
