Anyone try the FiOS Quantum G1100 router? Is it a big improvement over the Actiontec? Worth the $99 upgrade?

Haven't tried it (no FIOS in my area, only TWC), but looking at the specs and comparing with the Actiontec MI24WR (which is what I assume you mean), it's a huge improvement, and would be well worth $99 IMHO.

There's also a pretty long thread discussing the G1100 Quantum at DSL Reports. Apparently it doesn't have guest wifi accounts yet in the firmware, but it's reported to be coming with a firmware upgrade. Most of the messages I've read from people who seem to know their way around a router and network seem to say it's working fine.

Sprung for the $99 bucks...I must admit speed and signal strength is not very good. My Asus RT-AC66R is much better but I am only using it as an AP. Was hoping to only use the G1100 for the whole house...
