Is it possible to randomize the MAC address of the router ?

No, and it's generally a bad idea to do so, as it will confuse the rest of the network if two different MACs start reporting the same IP in ARP tables.

@RMerlin
To protect against geo-location privacy the MAC randomization becomes necessary. Can something be done?
The Google's opt-out from geo-location of WiFi routers is to add <_nomap> to routers <name>. But this requires all clients to change the name of AP they connect to. Is there a way of programming the router to send <name_nomap> to Google on WAN, but to broadcast just <name> for LAN clients
There is a similar but different add-on for Microsoft.
Thank you for your work writing the firmware.

Google is detecting the "_nomap" string contained in the router's SSID. There is no concept of WAN or LAN when talking about SSIDs.

The problem is in going thru ALL devices that need the network name and changing their settings - a lot of hassle on a larger setup.
change <NAME> to <NAME_nomap_optout> takes care of Google & Microsoft, but as any optout scheme - it is based on goodwill and does not prevent anything - except they know to hide stuff from us when we ask for it?
