Roku & RT-AC3200's Smart Connect

I have a Roku 3. I just got an RT-AC3200.

When Smart Connect is on, the Roku will not connect, and so far is the only device having trouble. This is true whether I'm using stock firmware or RMerlin's firmware (latest in both cases).

When Smart Connect is off, the Roku does connect.

Roku Support is unknowledgeable.

Anyone here have Roku & Smart Connect working together?

I'm assuming RMerlin's firmware has better/more detailed logging. How do I access that?

I am having the exact same issue. Stu, if you are able to get this working, please post how you did it! I will do the same.

Will do. Fortunately where I work there is a wifi team. Their best guess based on my description of the problem is that the Smart Connect is trying to 'steer' the Roku to the 5 GHz ac band when the Roku isn't actually ac-capable. Or, since Smart Connect takes over all the usual settings, it's using 40 (or 80) MHz wide channels, and the Roku can't handle that. They've given me a dongle to grab an air trace.

Unfortunately, tomorrow is my last day with this employer so I'm losing access to the team. I'm not sure how much I can accomplish between now and then. But I'll try. :-)
 
Ug, bummer that you are losing access to the team but hopefully you can make some headway! Thanks for the info. Here is hoping you can figure it out between now and tomorrow! :D
