i thought I'd bricked my RT-AC68U or got a faulty one, but I remembered Merlin said they're almost impossible to brick; I got locked out of the GUI whilst changing the default admin/admin on initial setup. The User Manual spoke about recovery mode (press power button until steady flashing) but nothing about (factory) reset to default settings (or none I could find).
I was getting nowhere even after reflashing the stock firmware until I found on Google relating to the N66, I think, that reset is accomplished by holding WPS whilst powering on. In desperation, I tried this and I had control again. But there was nothing in the manual about resetting, only recovery, which, from this personal experience is clearly something else.
Is there a reason there's no mention in the Manual about factory reset for the RT-AC68U? Was I just lucky with the WPS button trick?
