New Around Here
Hi guys. Cant really figure this one out. Seems like its a known issue, but any fix..?
Once a day my new 87u reboots, and its driving me nuts!
Running with latest original Asus firmware. Also tried Merlins build, all the same.

Faulty device or?

Did you do factory reset after firmware update/change and reconfigured manually (or used John's NVRAM save/restore utility)?
Do you run AICloud or other applications on the router? If yes, could be memory shortage - need to add a swap file!
Faulty device or?
Could be the case as I read about others having issues with the AC87U - mine runs fine since a few weeks now - will see if it's long term stable...

Well, my WAN IP changed once again! Can someone see something from this log?
Uptime is still 2 days??

Very basic setup, 1 port forward, DMZ enabled, 2.4 and 5 Ghz wifi enabled. AiCloud disabled now.

Started actually by flashing Merlin, factory reset and now on ASUS firmware. Which is preferred? ASUS or Merlin??

Hmmm..... Could the problem be dropping WAN connection instead of random reboots??

Well, found a command to clear NVRAM - done that, and flashed the newest Merlin firmware. Configured Wifi, made 1 port forward and enabled DMZ. Thats it.
Last change before I will return this!
If it is faulty, which router would you guys recommend? Is it this model that is crappy - seems to be more ASUS models with weird bugs!
So if not ASUS - I might go for a Ubiquiti edge router lite and an AP. Any pros/cons for this?

Do a factory reset always AFTER the update/change of firmware! Before it's completely useless...

AND: Did you re-configure the router after the factory reset manually? No restore of old settings (expect via John's NVRAM save/restore tool)?

So, now all connections dropped and had to restart the darn thing!
The log shows the date of today, but then interupted with a date in August!:

Faulty device or a fix of some kind?
