I have an AC-87 router and I am rather happy with it. Is there any reason to upgrade? to an AC3200 router. Which reasons could there be?

The router is placed in a room and I recently found out that one wall has some kind of metal foil in it.

Therefore wireless performance is rather poor in some other rooms. So I want to hook up an RT-N66 router to it, place it in one of the other rooms and use it as AP. Does that sound good?

Cansomeone give me pointers on how to set this? Or are there possibly other and better ways?

The RT-AC3200 is not an upgrade to the RT-AC87U, it's a side step. It's meant to address a different usage scenario.
