I've read different suggestions on why you should or shouldn't use the same SSID for a 5 GHZ and a 2.4 GHZ router. I have a Linksys e4200 and was wondering what you guys recommend?

    thanks in advance...

A dual band client can only connect to one band at a time. If you want finer control over which band your client connects to, different SSIDs are the way to go.

Depends on your network design and what clients are being used - both approaches work - I run dual band and the clients are smart enough to choose the best channel/band - some clients though, have issues...

Most AP's I've seen have the option to split the SSID's.
