Trying to understand while connected trough a VPN client in Server Address and Port.

When Server Address is 84.xx.xxx.xxx and set Port manually to port 443, my log shows:

  • dnsmasq[5041]: using nameserver 10.xx.xxx.x#53
  • dnsmasq[5041]: using nameserver 10.xx.xxx.x#53

Question: why is the nameserver always at port 53 when i set it to 443? If i want to use nameserver on port 443 or 80 orso how do i manage this? (without scripts)

RT-AC86U Firmware Version 384.8_2

You can't. DNS by definition is on port 53.
