What is the best QNAP NAS of these three options?

Hi all!

I'm looking into NAS solutions and there are three models with similar prices that make me doubt:

- TS-EC880 Pro (1860€): https://www.qnap.com/i/es/product/model.php?II=122

- TVS-871-i5-8G (1773€): http://www.amazon.com/QNAP-TVS-871-i5-8G-US-8-Bay-3-0GH...

- TVS-EC880-E3-8G (1734€): http://www.amazon.com/QNAP-TVS-EC880-E3-8G-US-8-Bay-10G...

The requirements are:

1. Data (video, music, Plex server, roms and ISO videogames) centrally stored.
2. Ability to access data from anywhere through web browser.
3. Easy access from Android Applications (Connecting from SmartTV).
4. Ability to mount NAS as one of the drives on PC and Android Apps.
5. Security cameras support.
6. Use it as a cloud.
7. At least support for 48TB (8bays?) and bay-expandable.
8. Virtualization.
9. Easily RAM expandable and best future value.

Thank you very much in advance!

Out of the choices you suggested, the TS-871 is most suited for your requirements, but for most homes that's probably overkill even there (the TS-EC series are predominantly intended for Enterprise use)

Might also consider the TVS-863 or TS-853Pro perhaps...

Just want to point out that these devices are nearing replacement. I would wait until they announce some skylake/ddr4 devices since your spending so much might as well get the latest and greatest. CES is next month and they will probably announce new devices then.

If you dont want to wait you could most likely by the G3250 version of the 871 and upgrade it yourself and save some money and get better specs.

True - QNAP is in the middle of a product line refresh with the recent announcements...

Thanks a lot guys!!! I really appreaciate your help and recommendations. I'll wait until CES. I see the date it's just around the corner and surely It's the smartest decision at the moment :)

Finally, no news about 8-bay QNAP models on CES 2016 so I'm studying the G3250, "cheap upgrade" option. But there's another question.. What's the point to go for a home NAS if they're at the same price than a Enterprise NAS? I think Xeon is better than i5 processor, and ECC RAM is interesting too. Isn't Enterprise NAS more reliable than a Home NAS?

I'm very grateful for all your recommendations and ideas!
