If you use WOL and see the system process (acpi.sys) using extra CPU here is a workaround!

If you use Wake On Lan on a windows machine, you may notice that the system process is using more cpu than normal. In my case it was pegged around 10% after each and every time I woke the computer. More analysis (processexplorer from sysinternals) led me to find the culprit was acpi.sys. One...

Scripts to set qos/bandwidth limiter to active/suspended not working.

BUT I WANTED TO STOP QOS FOR ONLY FIVE SECONDS. I kid. Trying the code out with just stop to turn it off and just start to turn it on now. Thanks! The clarification was all I needed. Qos on/off from my desktop with plink is nice. Thanks my man. Qos off script: #!/bin/sh # echo $PATH | grep...

Scripts to set qos/bandwidth limiter to active/suspended not working.

Hey all, been a long time since I rapped at ya. I use bandwidth limiter a lot so it would be very nice to be able to script some gui actions. I have a script that is supposed to make the bandwidth limiter "active" or "suspended." It does not work. Here is the script: #!/bin/sh # echo $PATH |...

WOWLAN re-revisited... router reboot wakes computer via AC 3168 wireless card.

I come back to WOWLAN once in awhile hoping I can get it working. It works perfectly, perhaps too well since it keeps unintentionally waking up from two things- 1) GTK rekeying (I mitigate this issue by changing the GTK rekey interval on the router since my AC 3168 wireless card does not seem...

    Easy dumb cru question.

Thanks thelonelycoder and ColinTaylor! Nothing wrong with zero- but SUN is more intuitive. I'll give SUN a shot.

    Easy dumb cru question.

I have a cru command setup and have a few questions- Using "/usr/sbin/cru a WOL "20 4 * * 7 /jffs/userscripts/wolscript"" resulted in the command running every day- does the N66U interpret 7 as every day instead of Sunday (0-6 is standard, I believe). Will "20 4 * * SUN" work?

Putty/SSH command to turn port forwarding on/off.

Ok I think I may have found it. Looks like vts_enable_x=1 is port forwarding on and vts_enable_x=0 is port forwarding off. So log into the router via SSH and use the following commands: nvram set vts_enable_x=1 nvram committ service restart_firewall That should do the trick to turn it on, to...

Putty/SSH command to turn port forwarding on/off.

I have what is probably an easy question that has already been answered. Is there a command to turn port forwarding on/off I can use through SSH? I am assuming it would be equivalent to clicking the yes/no radio buttons and apply on the port forwarding page in the gui.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

This is great. For the time being my solution will be to select only one DoT server considering the bounce around (it would be more correct to say switch it seemed to permanently switch over from cleanbrowsing servers to cloudflare) I get when I select more than one. I would like to know more...

This (notice the IPV6 address is kept out) has worked for me, I think I had strict DNSSEC off though... Mine- "Cleanbrowsing",185.228.168.10,,853,adult-filter-dns.cleanbrowsing.org,,,yes,yes Yours-...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS - DNS over TLS Beta - CLOSED

Not really worried about any failure scenario- just being a nerd. I like to know what's going on under the hood. If all selected DNS over TLS servers go down or don't work (probably most often because people like me bork the config file syntax) I think the router would just revert to regular...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS - DNS over TLS Beta - CLOSED

It seems like stubby will suffer from the same "am I connected or not?" feeling I sometimes get using vpn. Vpn is pretty easy to check, though. Would some command like this: netstat -lnptu | grep stubby Give information as to whether stubby is working? Edit- It does work in that it at least...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS - DNS over TLS Beta - CLOSED

Guys I think you could figure out DNS over TLS status in the firmware- sort of like the VPN-status page for the VPNs? Each selected server could have an indicator for whether DNS over TLS was running. Well, that would be epic if it were possible. :D

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS - DNS over TLS Beta - CLOSED

I have noticed- Using the webpage https://cloudflare-dns.com/help/ to check for DNS over TLS works with only cloudflare servers for me. Any other server always results in a "No" for "Using DNS over TLS (DoT)". I have tried to add another server to the stubby-resolvers.csv file with this line...
