    USB GPS instead of NTP

A few years back our outfit lost the broadband for about three weeks. In that time a piece of equipment powered down, and on restart refused to complete the boot sequence, because it could not get the time, it reverted to unix time zero. Manual intervention was impossible, but a GPS based ntpd...

Hi working ok on AC3200 for a few days, with the following strange things. 1. after the upgrade the time went back to 2015, even though ntp had a valid entry. Ran ntpclient -h pool.ntp.org -s to reset it and added ntpclient -h pool.ntp.org -s to system service startup script. 2. The Wireless...

    dns fails when wan disconnected

Hi is this normal, when I disconnect the wan cable, red light comes on, and I cannot resolve any local names, ether this set via the lan dhcp page, or added to dnsmasq.? Up and download limit and Time Machine

Re the apple time machine, I assume you are trying to backup via wifi from a laptop? Apple tend to change things every so often, that said, netatalk (Apple file Protocol) works on linux boxes (esp debian, but you need the unoffical versions libatalk16_3.1.7-1_amd64.deb...

pfSense/Sophos vs ASUSWRT/RMerlin - Is there any reason to change?

Hi re Any advice mucho appreciated. I wouldn't put my trust in a piece of equipment or software I have no control over, running exposed services to the internet. With pfsense you have some control as you can access the code, and recompile it to remove the bits you are not happy with. Just my...

    Dual Wan, a silly question?

Hi Would it be feasible to perform dual WAN using the wan port only, with both modems accessed via a switch, and for example, Modem 1 on 192.168.0.1 and modem 2 on 192.168.0.2?, using static IP wan address in the asus router?
