Changed R8000 to RT AC3200 for load balancing but alas it does not work...

So I changed my perfectly good R8000 to a RT AC3200 since I had two ethernet based internet connections from different providers "Primary & Backup" and when I found out about dual WAN I was hooked. After some enquirers on snb I went ahead and gave back the R8000 for partial store credit and...

Dual WAN support with different IP's & Gateways??

Well wireless tech is a mess right now this is something that most people dont know they just go in for bigger numbers on box routers. I am struggling with R8000 and its loss rate of almost 1% while pinging to my M9 where as my old Netgear Wifi B router had only 0.3-0.5% loss rate. God knows...

Dual WAN support with different IP's & Gateways??

I would think they would include it in the high end home routers like my R8000. Other than this more LAN ports should also be present "Like my super buggy DIR632 had". Using combo "Switches and routers" just adds more power hungry parts to the network.

    Asus RT-AC3200 issues and impressions

How are your ping's, I have a Netgear R8000 and I am getting almost 1% loss rate when pinging to my M9 over WiFi 5Ghz 80Mhz. When asked about this from tech-support they told me it was normal for Xstream. Now I dont understand how that can be possible since xstream would result in SSID change...

Dual WAN support with different IP's & Gateways??

That clear up quite a bit I was expecting it to be similar to link aggregation. After a look at my R8000 manual it seems my router does not have dual WAN support which is a bummer I wonder why Netgear did not included the functionality. Seems I will have to look into the RT AC3200 after all.

Dual WAN support with different IP's & Gateways??

But with two LAN based Internet lines load balancing is possible even if both have different IP's and Gateways or not?

    RT-AC87 and RT-AC3200 Why?

While I am not buyer of the RT-AC3200 but an Netgear R8000 they both are functionally similar. The big thing for the R8000 is the two independent 5Ghz SSID's which gets selected based on the speed the device connects at. My HTC M9 gets the lower 5Ghz while my Asus PCE AC68 get the higher 5Ghz...

Dual WAN support with different IP's & Gateways??

I have just upgraded from Netgear R7000 to an R8000 about which you can read here. Now when I was boasting about my new purchase to my friend he pointed out that his 87u supports something called dual WAN with load balancing which my R8000 does not. This dual WAN is interesting to me since I...

Best single stream 80Mhz AC Router...

Purpose build platforms might be a reason for their high score, I am still happy with the R8000 with the 232Mbps score but still would have liked a bit more. Heat is not a problem with the router the grills on the top do take out the heat very well but yes sun rays were directly on the router at...

Best single stream 80Mhz AC Router...

I give up been testing the R8000 with the M9 using iperf but could not even come close to Anandtech's score of 352Mbps which can be seen here . Either something with my M9/R8000 is wrong or people at anandtech are using some weird command/way of measure. Client/M9 Phone - 10.209.6.169 Server PC...

Best single stream 80Mhz AC Router...

As noted in my first post I am using a Sandisk Extreme PRO 64GB for Samba. The phone is also fully rooted and is in the S-OFF state. A1 Bench rates the SD card speeds at 75-80MBps read and 55-60MBps write. While using a USB cable I can get almost 23MBps even tough the connection is USB 2.0...
