2.4ghz and 5ghz clients cant communicate with each other

The latest Merlin version 3006.102.4 seems to have fixed this problem for me.

2.4ghz and 5ghz clients cant communicate with each other

I intend on upgrading all my devices to 5GHz I'll have to wait a years though, I've got loads of lamps on 2.4GHz, and there's not many printers that use 5GHz.

2.4ghz and 5ghz clients cant communicate with each other

I don't bother re-booting, if at any time I need access to the 2.4GHz printer, I just change the WiFi to the 2.4GHz on my PC, then print, then go back to my 5GHz SSID, I'm so used to doing this now that I always remember to do it. I've tried everything here with the same result. I think that...

2.4ghz and 5ghz clients cant communicate with each other

I just had a scheduled reboot at 03:00 and the RT-86U Pro Router failed to boot. Fantastic. Had to get my 86 year old mother to cycle the power manually. That was a 28 minute phone call to explain what to do. I love this router....NOT !

2.4ghz and 5ghz clients cant communicate with each other

The only reliable way I can fix this is to reboot the router. I do as tbrig1 does...scheduled reboot every morning at 0300. Fixes the 2.4 / 5GHz bridging issue within a minute.

2.4ghz and 5ghz clients cant communicate with each other

I prefer my old RT-AX86U router that never had this issue. Judging by this thread, this issue affects primarily RT-AX86U Pro owners.

2.4ghz and 5ghz clients cant communicate with each other

The issue I am seeing is complete isolation of the Wi-Fi 2.4GHz devices and 5GHz devices. No communication (ping/traceroute) whatsoever between these. For devices connected via LAN, there is no issue. The RT-AX8U Pro router can communicate with all devices (2.4 / 5 / LAN) with no issue at all...

2.4ghz and 5ghz clients cant communicate with each other

The bridging tables from brctl showmacs br0 are pretty much the same before and after the issue. The iptables from iptables -L -n -v , I'm not too sure what I should be looking for here, but they look very similar. I've also tried disabling the firewall, this does not fix the issue.

2.4ghz and 5ghz clients cant communicate with each other

When the fault happens, there's nothing at all in the logs on my RT-AX86U Pro router. I also compared the nvram (nvram show > file1.txt), when it was working to when it fails, no relevant differences in there. I was looking for access point isolation changes, but there is nothing obvious in...

2.4ghz and 5ghz clients cant communicate with each other

I only need access to the 2.4GHz for an old Canon MX430 printer. My new workaround if I cannot access the printer via my laptop : 1) Change from the 5GHz SSID to the 2.4GHz SSID on my laptop. 2) Change back to the 5GHz SSID, I can then access the printer. I only print a few things a month, so...

2.4ghz and 5ghz clients cant communicate with each other

Airtime Fairness has always been disabled here on both bands, and the issue still exists

2.4ghz and 5ghz clients cant communicate with each other

To confirm that this issue was not a problem with my laptop/WiFi network adapter I managed to get hold of a very old laptop using the 2.4GHz band only, and now I can see that this is seeing issues communicating to some of the 5GHz devices. I also installed "Ping IP" on an Android tablet using...

2.4ghz and 5ghz clients cant communicate with each other

I also have a similar problem, using Merlin 3004.388.5 firmware on a recently acquired RT-AX86U Pro. I upgraded from an RT-AX86U to an RT-AX86U Pro several weeks ago. The issue was evident when I was unable to print to the 2.4Ghz networked printer from my laptop, I noticed that I cannot ping...

RT-AX82U - Cannot access LAN - Switch Control

The issue was fixed when I installed ASUSWRT 386-7 beta firmware, which I found here : https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asuswrt-386-rc2-public-beta-with-full-functions-aimesh-2-0.65235/
