Did you try using the VPN Director to have your guest network IPs go through the desired VPN connection instead of the WAN? If it works, there is no need for using any addon. I have nothing against YazFi, but I like my router to run lean & mean..!

@octopus It seems to me that, what you may want to do is configure your VPN server's IP as the DNS for your VPN Clients (instead of the DOT IP), and make sure the VPN server (RT-AX86U) is where the DoT connection is active. That will surely allows the VPN clients to have access to the LAN where...

Did you try resetting the wifi connection in the IoT devices? If wifi drivers changed on .19b, connection on clients probably needs/should be reset to the new driver as well.
