    Speed Test Upload Limit RT-BE88U

The routers can potentially be affected by CPU bottlenecks. That said, my GT-BE98 pro on a 5gig connection seems to give fairly reasonable results. The router is behind an AT&T fiber gateway set in passthrough mode.

Just a general observation on BE stability and interoperability

When OEMs bring new technology to the market, they like to trumpet that they are "backward-compatible" and will work "seamlessly" with not only legacy technology, but also with other vendors' products. As many of us know, that marketing hype in many cases turns out to be just that...hype. It is...

GT-BE98 PRO - Is there a new version?

+1 to all the comments here. I've now had 2 BE98 Pros. First one died three weeks after purchase. Replacement now online but not for much longer. Both v2 h/w. Both suck. My overall network has gone totally down the tubes with this "flagshi"p" router. This second one's days in my network are...

    BE98 Pro…dead in three weeks

Good point on potential power issues. Both the 1600 and the 98 were on conditioned power with substantial battery backup. There are a number of other components likewise attached to the surge protector/battery backup that are doing fine. It’s still possible that something flaky happened to the...

    BE98 Pro…dead in three weeks

Got a BE98 Pro about three weeks ago to replace a GT-AXE16000 that had begun to have major h/w stability issues. Had the new BE98 Pro up and running as a core router for my mesh network. It was setup behind my AT&T fiber gateway. Also running dual WAN in failover mode. All seemed great…until...

Release ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36382 (2025/03/12)

As I've explored the new 3006 menus, one thing I'm not crazy about is what they've done to the Internet speed measurement display. Instead of selecting a server and actually seeing, in real time, the actual throughput in both directions, what they replaced it with is a dumb display that just...

Release ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 Firmware version 3.0.04.388_24329 12-18-2023

No problems with this update. Three AX86U AIMesh node configuration. Nodes were on latest F/W. All working OK so far.

    AXE16000 Can't get ipv6 working (Frontier Fiber)

Interesting. My WAN Connection is set to "Automatic IP" and the IPv6 type is "Native" in the router. It's been working fine for months now. According to the folks on the AT&T forum, when the Residential Gateway is set to "Passthrough", the RG simply forwards on whatever public IP addresses it...

    AXE16000 Can't get ipv6 working (Frontier Fiber)

I'm probably missing something key in your config. I currently run AT&T 5Gig fiber to my AXE16000 via an AT&T Residential Gateway, a BGW320-505 set in passthrough mode. I have my IPv6 set to "native" on the router and it picks up an IPv6 address with no issues. Not sure what Frontier is doing or...

    Release Version ASUS GT-AXE16000 Firmware 3.0.0.4.388.23012 (2023/04/19)

If all one is looking for are "new features" then that's one thing. If one is looking for a higher-end consumer router that is reasonably stable and has a feature set that fills your needs that's another. I have an AIMesh setup with a GT-AXE16000 and three AX86U nodes. I'm on a 5gig AT&T fiber...

    Release ASUS GT-AXE16000 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22525 (20/2/2023)

My 16000 and the three AX86U AI Mesh nodes are all running 22525 with no issues.

    GT-AXE16000 dual WAN failover mode

I'm going to have to restrict the addresses being served by the RG's DHCP server and see. I can't completely disable the DHCP server on the RG or the RG will not pass it's public IP to the 16000.

    Release ASUS GT-AXE16000 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22525 (20/2/2023)

This version still has a bug with the onboard speed test. I've got 5gbps FTTP to the router's 10gb port #1 but the router's onboard speedtest still will not report anything higher than 3.5gb
