TRENDnet TPL-430APK WiFi Everywhere Powerline 1200 AV2 Wireless Kit Reviewed

One of the TPL-421E powerline ethernet adapters failed and TrendNet in the UK not only replaced it under warranty but posted me a twin pack of TPL-421E. Other than that they've locked up and had to be restarted no more than twice since I've had them.

TRENDnet TPL-430APK WiFi Everywhere Powerline 1200 AV2 Wireless Kit Reviewed

6 months on they’re rock solid, not had to touch them since install but wireless range is not enough to go through an external brick wall so I bought another TPL-430AP. If like me your WPS doesn’t work that reliably it’s easiest to connect wirelessly to the new AP first using the code on the...

TRENDnet TPL-430APK WiFi Everywhere Powerline 1200 AV2 Wireless Kit Reviewed

So I bought this and a pair of TPL-421E adapters and have just set them up to replace the excellent Billion 500 series adapters I’ve been using. My main aim in writing this is so you can avoid the pitfalls I fell into; the devices, while purporting to be from a US firm, have manuals that appear...

"How Fast Can Your Wi-Fi Go?" Article

Ah, thanks, that explains it. Even with the client supporting 160MHz?

"How Fast Can Your Wi-Fi Go?" Article

Table 2, Client Class AC2350 (600+1733) only gets a maximum 5GHz link rate of 1733 with router class AC2350 (600+1733) but not AC2600 (800+1733) where it's only 1300. The only reason I'm concerned about max rates is that 50% of 1733 is better than 50% of 1300.

"How Fast Can Your Wi-Fi Go?" Article

Sorry I made a mess of the previous post, I meant to say "I was thinking of getting a Netgear R7800, which does support 160MHz but, according to the "How fast can your wifi go" article, if the Intel 9260 has a max 2.4 GHz speed of 600MHz it will only get 1733Mbps with a 600+1733 router; with a...

"How Fast Can Your Wi-Fi Go?" Article

Thanks for the reply. Having pored over your website, the "How to buy a router" and "Router Ranker", I was thinking of getting a Netgear R7800, which does support 160MHz but, according to the "How fast can your wifi go" article, if the Intel 9260 has a max 2.4 GHz speed of 600MHz it will only...

"How Fast Can Your Wi-Fi Go?" Article

Sorry, couldn't find a discussion thread on this article: https://www.smallnetbuilder.com/basics/wireless-basics/32175-how-fast-can-your-wi-fi-go My router needs replacing and I thought, to go with the new router, I'd get a new Intel AC 9260 wireless adapter for my Dell laptop, which claims up...

New Asus AC2400 router vs Netgear Nhawk x6 HELP

Here in the UK a cheap TP LINK Archer C5 AC1200 will cost me 80 pounds, [EDIT: the TP LINK AC1750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router - V2.0 is 86 pounds with Open WRT support] the Netgear N7000 around double that at 160 pounds and I'd be very surprised if they try and get 200 pounds or more for...

New Asus AC2400 router vs Netgear Nhawk x6 HELP

Thanks for the reply, current router is a Linksys n610, the odd drop out I can handle. I was tempted with the two 5GHz radios on the R8000 so that my partner's office VPN connection won't be affected if I start to move gigabytes of virtual machine files to or from my NAS box.

New Asus AC2400 router vs Netgear Nhawk x6 HELP

But is it that foolish if, like me and my partner, you've just upgraded your broadband from 7 Mb to 76 Mb and both your main wireless clients to 2x2 AC and now find your router is the weak link in trying to access your office remotely? I'm still researching but it does appear this (foolish...
