Port Forwarding for Minecraft/Satisfactory game server

Hello, my son wants me to set up port forwarding on our main home router for a game server. Not sure how to do this on Merlin, but also not sure of the risks?? Any specific way this should be done properly? He sent me this info Thanks

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.10 is now available

My AX86U PRO is still on 3004.388_4, however latest release on sourceforge is saying 3006.102.5, not 3004.388.10. What version did the ax86u pro split at so I can read/follow proper changelog? thanks edit - did more reading 3004.388.9 (9-Apr-2025) - NOTE: BCM4912 models such as the GT-AX6000...

Looking for feedback: renaming the Tools menu for Sysinfo

SysInfo sounds more specific/intuitive than Tools which is a good thing!!! Maybe ShabbsInfo also acceptable ;)

So is the whole router limited to 1 core, or is the qos limited to 1 core?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_4 is now available

For the AX86U Pro latest Merlin on cake is it normal for the router to use only 1 core (while doing speedtest)?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_4 is now available

This is 250/30 fibre, I did try from 1Mbps all the way through on this and last version of merlin, DL fine, it's the upload that doesn't stick or work at any setting. Thanks for tip though. "If you don't know the provider's wan packet overhead values," I could try to find that. thanks.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_4 is now available

Think might be a bug for QoS, the download seems to apply and stick, the upload either doesnt appy or stick or both? Same issue as previous version https://www.snbforums.com/threads/ax86u-merlin-and-cake-qos.91611/

    AX86U Merlin and Cake QoS

The Ax86u is only one. The actiontec r3000 is collecting dust. Turns out was not pppoe. Was something else. Just had to copy Mac over to Ax86u and manually put in vlan and worked.
