Just purchased a ASUS rt3100 newer version of the ac88u with 4 less ports, and purchased a x4s nighthawk both routers plugged in perform the same and WiFi, but the the asus wifi is faster on 5ghz longer distance after extensive testing, and the asus ui is faster and looks 10x better

I would go for the ASUS rt 3100 i had both and just returned the x4s

Everyone on the forums have said the rtac88u/3100 outperform the older ac3200

After back to back tests the ASUS performed better then the net gear especially in 5ghz range and speed

I also found that I get much higher speeds on devices with it turned off
