380_65 VPN Client - Multiple client list

I'm using Windscribe. With 2.4, I'm unable to change the "compression" or "Accept DNS" or use "Policy Rules". I am practically forced to use the absolute default from Windscribe from the exported OVPN file. To top it off, I'm unable to use only Client 1. So looks like build 65 may be a wrong...

380_65 VPN Client - Multiple client list

Thanks Xentrk. I had to change the compression to Adaptive as well. I thought my provider messed it up. But now I know it's not :-( So do I add the "dhcp-server DNS xxxxxxx" on the options pane at the bottom of the VPN Client setup page? I may have to wait for your write up after all!

380_65 VPN Client - Multiple client list

My original setup (prior to build 65) was all 5 clients configured with various exit points and differing "Policy Rules". I did a reset on all the clients, then rebooted and then setup 2 new clients. Still no go. The only way it allows the LAN clients to go thru is if I have only one and...

380_65 VPN Client - Multiple client list

Hi, I have upgraded to the latest 380_65 build. I'm running on a AC-RT3100 box. Since the upgrade, my VPN connection (Client 1) was showing as connected but no LAN nodes were able to access the internet. I have been using "Rules" to control which client goes thru VPN and which does not. So I...

Connect to OpenVPN server & route thru OpenVPN client

I have tried that as the first step. In fact, I even tried my friend's VPN provider for kicks, they seem to be blocking all known (at least popular) vendors.

Connect to OpenVPN server & route thru OpenVPN client

Haha! I'm not a big fan of nested NATs or VPNs for that matter. Though "Double Hop" is a recommended way for VPN for added security. My problem is very weird. When I sit in my daughter's school while she is on a game, I connect to the school's WiFi. But I noticed recently they have started...

Connect to OpenVPN server & route thru OpenVPN client

I have OpenVPN server enabled and working with Asus-Merlin. I also have OpenVPN client configured to work with my choice of a VPN provider. Now I want to be able to connect to my home network from work thru OpenVPN server, but I also want the traffic to exit thru the OpenVPN client that's using...

AC88U/AC-3100 - Setup OpenVPN and non-vpn end points

Makes perfect sense. I did not read up on the OpenVPN architecture. Thanks for that. But I run on Comcast Business with 30Mbps down and 10Mbps up. That's why I'm perplexed as to why the router can't handle that level of throughput. Additionally, I'm not doing a whole lot of transport. Any...

AC88U/AC-3100 - Setup OpenVPN and non-vpn end points

I understand the computational overhead for the AES256. But running on a dual-core 1.4 GHz processor along with coprocessors should be fairly good, right? The upcoming routers are touting the 1.7Ghz dual-core processors. Which means the 1.4 GHz processors are the current cream-of-crop. Given...

AC88U/AC-3100 - Setup OpenVPN and non-vpn end points

Mucha appreciated RMerlin. Got it running with the policies. One additional question, is the throughput significantly impacted when using the OpenVPN client from the router than from the desktop/laptop? I see a big drop in the throughput using the same provider and selecting the same exit...

AC88U/AC-3100 - Setup OpenVPN and non-vpn end points

Hi, I'm running on AsusMerlin 380.64_2 on my RT-AC3100 router. I have setup OpenVPN client and things are dandy. But I am trying to setup the router in a way that only certain IPs go thru VPN while the other IPs can go unencrypted. For e.g. my desktop, NAS, Laptop, Tablets, Home Automation...
