Thanks and I saw that chart after I posted, but its unclear which hardware version is equivalent to 68u v2? I am guessing it must be B1, C1 or E1 but none of those are listed on the sticker only 66u v2, not on the white sticker but printed on the back of the plastic.

I know there are some long threads on this topic none of which are clear. The topics were mostly variants of the RT-68u. I have a version RT-AC68u v2 and its the 1GHz processor according to Sysinfo in Merlin Asus Wrt firmware. What hardware differences are between the 68u v2 and 68p?

I know how to back up booloader file with the dd command but stupidly me I forgot to do that before flashing asuswrt-Merlin. Does that file get touched in any way once I upgrade to Merlin and if so can I get my original cfe file by flashing Asus stock back?
