Depending on the controller, some drives should be capable of spinning down already. Discussion on these additions will be a lower priority until we resolve wireless performance issues for affected users.

Sorry but this firmware has been pulled from the site due to compatibility issues with some client drivers. Based on positive feedback, this firmware will still be an overall improvement for many people so I am making it available here:

Firmware 3.0.0.4.374.454 has an updated SDK, so it is a good idea to go ahead and perform a factory reset after updating.
The servers may not be fully synced yet. If you do not see the firmware a available today, check by tomorrow. If it is still not up, let me know.

Select Windows 8 64bit, as it may not be showing up in the other OSes yet.
No because some of the issues are exclusive to these two models, but an update will come later for the RT-AC66U that will likely include some of the more general fixes (sorry, I do not have FW notes on all the fixes right now).

There might be some fixes in .371, but this particular issue with 2.4Ghz is still a work in progress. It is a high priority issue.
If anyone is still having issues on 2.4Ghz dropping to low speeds, try setting channel bandwidth to 20Mhz.
We are looking into fixes on 2.4Ghz affecting some environments and setups. There will be another update soon.
