Ah right, it’s probably not going to make any difference then. All of the nodes are connected via Ethernet, Download speed is only about 370Mbps and upload is 38Mbps. I have a few devices which are WiFi6 compatible but I’m assuming that it’s pointless upgrading with the low speed of the ISP. So...

I’m currently running a RT-AX88u with 3 x RT-AC86u nodes. Obviously with the setup, WiFi 6 won’t be available from the nodes so I’m looking to replace them. Are there any recommendations or will any RT-AX models be ok as a node? Thanks

The nodes were all set to auto as default but the RT-AX88u was set to off after a factory reset, after turning it on it all worked with wired.

I’ve just replaced a failing RT-AC86u with a RT- AX88. I’ve re-added the nodes but they are using 5ghz uplink instead of wired. I’ve spent all afternoon trying to sort it out and I’m loosing my mind. The 3 nodes are RT-86u x2 and a RT-68u. Thanks EDIT I’m a massive idiot, Ethernet backhaul...

I found out what is was, my work phone. I can’t believe I didn’t check that 🤦🏼‍♂️ I have an Aimesh setup and no other networks so I’m still not sure why it’s showing as 5-1

I’ve got an unknown device on my network, it’s showing as 5- 1, I’ve never seen this before and have no idea what it could mean. I’m the only person that has the password for 5ghz, everyone else uses 2.4ghz.

It’s a AC86 with 2 other AC86 nodes and a AC68 which is in place of the AC86 in question. All running the latest stock FW.

Yep, works fine in every mode apart from node, if it didn’t work in other modes I would have just given up but with it working in other modes, I’m just baffled 🤯

I’m not using guest WiFi. To eliminate the switch, I’ve temporarily bypassed it. I’ve been running a ping test, pinging my wired desktop, all the nodes, an AP and google every 5 seconds, this is after 5 hours from a laptop connected to a node and it doesn’t appear to be as bad as I thought 🤔
