Happy days here too...Note the AP mode though. Not using as a router or AIMesh.
Using an AX58U for the router, traffic cop, plus wifi, running same Alpha and apparently it DOES like to crash. Just checked it, been up for only 17 hours =(. Luckily I didn't notice the reboot.
What? Really? This badass router is going to choke on 32 clients, some doing little to nothing? I would love to do more reading on that if you could point me there.
For reference, I have:
* 6 Amazon Echos/echo dots/show/etc.
* 7 iPad Minis 2nd Gen (old), in-wall for home automation
* iMac 5k (first gen)
* Mac mini 2018
* 4 Macbook Pros (2015, 2018s)
* Smart Garage Door Opener
* Legacy IR Blasters with Wifi (old)
* 1st gen Ring doorbell
* 3 Apple Watches...
Thanks everyone. I tried a couple things: went to using only the AX88U after an MMC, got rid of the AIMesh setup. The 88 should handle the whole house and seems to. I'm hoping the AIMesh was the culprit of the frequent disconnects.
The default settings seem to work fine as of now, with Smart...
I have a 3000 sqft house, one AX58U as the router on FiOS, one AX88U as an AIMesh node backhauled with Cat5e in a bedroom hallway (plugged into WAN). Two weeks ago I had two 58Us and thought I would replace one with the 88U to see if there is a difference. Still trouble.
I am running the very...
Reboot did fix it, though I'm wondering how often I will have to do this, grrr. I had AirPort Extreme for 7 years or so and never had to touch that thing once. I really hope rebooting is not the norm, especially after being ~$500 into this config...
Didn't want to try a reboot since it's my main router and kids are playing =). Should I expect to reboot this on a schedule? Is it a best practice to schedule reboot?
Ok, I put one AX58U in Router mode on my Frontier FiOS, the second one backhauled (in WAN port) on the other side of the house. Everything was working great...until this morning. Now iPhone 11 Pro won't connect to WiFi on the "Router" AX. If I walk to the back of the house (connecting to the...
Works great thanks! Not to fork too much but quick Q: when you have two of these, with ethernet drops available at both ends (one being in router mode), what is the best mode for the secondary? Would you still use AIMesh or AccessPoint with all the same WiFi settings to extend?
Thanks I will give it a shot. Curious how that release version even made it to "release" status. I also have it's clone of a different name, the AX-3000. I assume I'll use the same file?
Tried the latest merlin firmware upgrade on the AX58 (using the GUI firmware updater) and it continues to fail with the "unsuccessful" message. Running latest GA firmware, did a reboot. What am I missing? Sorry, been looking all through here and don't see this simple? answer. Thanks.
