I have two ZenWiFi BQ16 Pros running 3.0.0.6.102_36934 (one primary, 1 mesh node), and have also had no issues with 2.4 GHz IoT devices using WPA2/WPA3 encryption.
I updated my RT-BE96U to 3006.102.4 Release yesterday and I've been having WiFi issues with both my phone (Pixel 9 Pro XL) and laptop (Thinkpad Carbon X1 Gen 13 Aura w/ Intel BE201 Wifi 7 card running Fedora 42). Neither will utilize MLO any longer and will only connect to a single band...
That's how I have my RT-BE96U configured as well. Before the most recent firmwares with the architecture changes, I had a separate MLO network and things were never really stable. Now (last couple months) I have MLO on the.main ssid with all 3 bands, and it's been rock solid.
Flashed 3006.102.3 on my RT-BE96U over top of stock firmware 3.0.0.6.102_37038 after running the 2 commands for downgrade check bypass:
nvram set DOWNGRADE_CHECK_PASS=1
nvram commit
So far so good, will report back over a longer testing period.
No problem! The architecture change actually happened in the previous 37024 firmware a few weeks back, it's in the changelog:

The say they "highly discourage downgrading," but they literally...
This firmware has some architecture changes that prevents "downgrading" to older firmwares. In this case, the current Merlin fw doesn't have these new changes, bc Merlin confirmed he hasn't received an updated GPL from Asus yet. So while his firmware is more feature-rich than stock, it'll take...
Interesting input! I am using the "MLO fronthaul for clients" setting on the main ssid, as well as wifi 7 mode and all 3 bands selected as in my last screenshot. I didn't have a mesh as I just have the one router. I only have one MLO device right now (Pixel 9 Pro XL) and MLO is definitely...
I flashed this a couple hours ago as we've been waiting for some type of fw update, and finally had time to check it out. Biggest change so far is the new Network tab which now has an MLO option for the Main network that previous firmwares did not. Nice to have it on the Main network and not...
So when would those changes in the new RT-BE96U be part of merlin firmware? i'd like to stay on merlin, but it seems once you flash the stock fw, you can't revert back to previous firmware versions due to "architecture changes".
Does this include the changes from the new stock RT-BE96U firmware that finally dropped on 10/24 @RMerlin ?
