Need Wake On LAN from the WAN side

Excuse me for misleading you, but no, I do not use stock firmware. I use Merlin's firmware. And I use Wake-On-LAN for a very long time. So the firmware's version does not matter.

Need Wake On LAN from the WAN side

Yes, that's correct. But I also use IP reservations in "Manually Assigned IP around the DHCP list". TUN seems to block broadcast traffic for some reason and I cannot wake a device with a packet sent to 192.168.1.255:9.

Need Wake On LAN from the WAN side

You do not need "learn" anything. Just read above: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/need-wake-on-lan-from-the-wan-side.33564/#post-270104 Wake-On-Lan Android app works via TUN and via TAP. P.S. TAP is possible under Android. But it requires a rooted device.

Newb here. Asus, VPN, IP Cameras...

Just my 5 cents. A single AC86's price is the same as for 3 (three) TM-AC1900, and I'd prefer to have more than one AP for a 1900 square feet house.

    LAN to Wireless Bottleneck?

I'd try downgrading to 384.5 because 384.6 is known to have problems with LAN-WLAN traffic. P.S. Or upgrading to 384.7b1 :)

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.7 Beta is now available

Anyone tested LAN-WLAN speed? Is the speed degradation present as it was in 384.6? Ok, tested by myself. Don't see any problems with LAN-WLAN speed on 384.7b1. 384.7b1 vs 384.5 speeds are below:

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 is now available

Who knows... It's not that simple. You need to be a networking expert to say. Need to ask my daughter  I've had a similar problem two years ago, but the Linux PC was affected and it was solved "on the Linux side" then: https://forum.openelec.tv/showthread.php?tid=81451 But I could hardly...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 is now available

So sorry that I did not find your message earlier. For 3 or 4 days I was thinking that this problem is M$ related as they are removing SMB1 support from their products currently. And moreover, my Linux PC was not affected. I've wasted quite a lot of time trying to solve the problem by tuning...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 is now available

Updating to 384.6 caused a serious LAN-WLAN speed degradation when using Windows SMB. My main router is RT-AC1900P. I have 2 PCs wired to my home router: a Windows PC (Windows 10 build 1607, fully updated) and a Linux PC (the latest Libreelec nightly build). I also have a Windows laptop...

    Tutorial ASUS ROUTERS JTAG RECOVERY

@bossrek, will try to answer the questions one by one. 1. Yes, you understood my idea correctly. RT-AC66U and RT-AC68U (RT-AC1900P too) use similar nand-flash, the chips are swappable. 2. Soldering is really a problem but it can be done with a knife-style soldering iron and a half of a razor...

    Tutorial ASUS ROUTERS JTAG RECOVERY

I can, but you won't like it. And mine device is RT-AC1900P, not TM-AC1900, not sure if that matters. If the CFE is corrupted you have to trash RT-AC68U-like router because there's no known JTAG solution currently. The only way to repair it is to desolder nand-flash chip (Spansion...

    Tutorial ASUS ROUTERS JTAG RECOVERY

Hi, guys. Bought a broken RT-AC1900P on ebay a week ago. For parts or repair. A rare beast in our places, that's why extremely desired. Cosmetically very good but only USB2.0 LED lights. US $9.01. Not bad. Appeared to be a broken CFE. Restored at home in an unusual way, device working well so...
