    Ethernet or WiFi?

Tested it and 10/100 seems to work fine for streaming local content. Thanks for your guidance and expertise all.

    Ethernet or WiFi?

Yes, other forums have reported running into issues local 4k streaming because ethernet (10/100) capped at ~95 mbps. I use Plex running local streaming. I will test when I get the unit later and comment back.

    Ethernet or WiFi?

Ok thanks, was just trying to get consensus. Always heard/read that wired is best. I will try both for a while and see which is best for my environment like you originally said.

    Ethernet or WiFi?

Thanks OE. Do you ever run into buffering issues with local 4k streaming because capped at ~95 mbps?

    Ethernet or WiFi?

I have Roku 4K Streaming Stick that gets 866 mbps (GT-AX6000 router, 3' away). I bought Roku Ultra, it has ethernet (10/100; unfortunately not gigabit) and WiFi 6. Should i use ethernet or WiFi for the Ultra? Researching online there are mixed recommendations with about 1/2 of sources saying...

    Asuswrt-Merlin v3006.102.5 channel/bandwidth switching

Very strange, back to being stable on 48/160. Maybe airport 5 miles away was pushing dfs a few weeks ago?

    Asuswrt-Merlin v3006.102.5 channel/bandwidth switching

Do you recommend 5 GHz 20/40/80/160 MHz with auto channel, and 2.4 GHz 20/40 MHz with auto channel?

    Asuswrt-Merlin v3006.102.5 channel/bandwidth switching

Upgraded from previous version. Channel bandwidth has been set to 160MHz and Control Channel "auto" (which defaults to 48) for years. Always stayed on 160MHz/48 until latest version. With latest version it will move to channel 100/160MHz and then after a while (I'm assuming dfs kicked) to...

Solved Guest Network Pro (IoT network)

Just like @RMerlin said, default settings. I did bifurcate the 2.4GHz from 5GHz as I think that was giving false fair/excellent signal. Also, you can set AP Isolated but Google Home didn't like that (literally had message "no AP Isolated") so I did not.

Thanks for replying and thanks for your excellent firmware. Are there specific settings that I should configure for better signal?

Solved Guest Network Pro (IoT network)

This is what chatGPT said but my goal in posting on this forum was to get expert advice from the forum as I know AI isn't always correct. I'm not sure I can configure professional settings on VLAN. I'll have to look at some of this stuff later when family isn't on internet. I have Merlin...

Solved Guest Network Pro (IoT network)

Ok thanks. I guess I'm wondering if there's something fundamentally different between main network and VLANs on ASUS routers. Especially regarding signal strength.

Solved Guest Network Pro (IoT network)

The question is directed more to someone knowledgeable about the main network function versus VLAN function and how signals may be different or processed.
