[SCRIPT] Asuswrt-Merlin Log Sanitizer — safely redact syslogs before sharing

Here's a revised AWK file: https://pastebin.com/qkjc5473 I haven't attempted to use it, but there are now switches for several things. I won't have time to work on this until December, so have at it. sanitize_logs.sh changes for v2.1 Added: argument parsing for --mask-ip= argument...

[SCRIPT] Asuswrt-Merlin Log Sanitizer — safely redact syslogs before sharing

Will that redact such that the replacements get their own IDs? Mine will do MAC_1, MAC_2, IP_1, IP_2, etc. As for not redacting the IP addresses, you can just remove that section from the awk file. I'll try to go back and have a switch added for IPs. I will see if this script can be...

[SCRIPT] Asuswrt-Merlin Log Sanitizer — safely redact syslogs before sharing

It seems the contents of the awk file are causing some trouble with posting. Zips not allowed. When I paste the text it won't save. Saved as PDF but you should be able to copy/paste, I think. Remember you only want LF for the router, not CR/LF that's the Windows default. If anybody has a...

[SCRIPT] Asuswrt-Merlin Log Sanitizer — safely redact syslogs before sharing

First, let me say I'm not a coder. I had need to share my router log file with someone to review, but I wanted to strip out "sensitive" information first. So I spent time with ChatGPT having it create a tool to do the job. It took a good 2 hours of back-and-forth and in the end it needed to...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.10 is now available

So I'm reading this and thinking, about the only script I really care about is... YazFi. Guess I'm holding at 3004.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.10 is now available

Well, that's then a simple matter for me. Thanks for the clarity!

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.10 is now available

So if I don't change a wifi password, I can just keep using my current one? I've been using a 9-character password that otherwise meets the upper, lower, special, number requirements and I don't want to have to go back to change all my home automation stuff.

Single guest network where devices can interact

@bennor Sorry I've been remiss in posting back, but I wanted to thank you for all your help with this YazFi topic! It was invaluable and finally let me do what I had long wanted. I even got some unexpected uses out of it as well. So thanks, again!

Single guest network where devices can interact

Thanks for your responses! Hopefully last question: Is there a way I can keep 2 or 3 of my devices on that guest network from talking to the Internet? (I want them talking to each other, though.)

Single guest network where devices can interact

How much care and feeding does YazFi need? Do I need to add a flash drive? Do I need to disable it to upgrade Merlin? How do I back up the settings? Thanks

Single guest network where devices can interact

Thanks, I'll have to look into YazFi.

Single guest network where devices can interact

Can I create a single guest network where devices can interact with each other and reach the internet but cannot reach the devices on any other network on my router? I want guests to be able to show pictures from their cell phones on my TV. The TV doesn't need to talk to other devices on my...

Why do I need a Let's Encrypt certificate?

Well, I gave this a try, but nothing changed, unfortunately: Unable to connect An error occurred during a connection to [redacted].asuscomm.com. The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any pages, check your...
