You have to enable SSH, connect in with something like PUTTY, then use commands like:
fc enable
fc disable
nvram commit
Ship something where one feature conflicts with another so that they don't work unless you turn one off? Who in their right mind would do that...
FlexQOS works fine too, but you have to disable flowcache or things end up in the wrong categories. Flowcache is what allows you to get those insane speeds on WAN. With it turned off, you're similarly limited. (A few hundred mbit.) On every RT-AX6x router and above that I have tried, flowcache...
My RT-AX56U used to do the weird bandwidth spikes to super high numbers before I turned off flowcache. The internet would also get crappy for a while when flowcache and QOS were mixed. I ended up keeping QOS (FlexQOS) and disabling flowcache, and then everything was groovy. Wasn't malware for...
It's working a lot better with the new splitter in place. I haven't measured the stats, but I was starting to get a lot of dropout notices from my router just before installing it, and they've pretty much stopped. Games are also working better. Huge improvement from a very simple part swap.
Okay, I'm not really sure how to read the specs on these, but I think they don't meet the recommendations?

Howdy all,
I have been using MoCA in my home for a few years. (TL-MC84 adapters.) A year or so ago I got an 8 way splitter and installed it in the demarc, hooking up 8 rooms together. I then stuck adapters in the rooms that I needed. I have both VDSL2 and Cable (failover with a Merlin router) -...
I guess since I deal more with the equipment side, I don't really care if the support is buttoned down on the transit side. I'm out in BC. Probably twice per week I encounter a network laser printer that flipped its port settings in Windows to IPv6, and can't find the printer anymore. My...
They sure don't here in Canada. Most of them have terrible or no implementation.
Though apparently that has spared me great headaches. I keep IPv6 disabled, and have solely those glitchy routers that Tech9 mentions. I wasn't even aware that such a terrible bug exists, but it doesn't surprise...
Those categorizations are incredibly broad. If you tried anything similar with FlexQOS, you'd definitely not have a happy connection. You've got HTTPS (websites / downloads) set into your highest Voice category, and 15000+ ports that are used by random software. (Your two "Discord" rules) That's...
It's a feature, not a bug. The exact behaviour that you're describing (having all those devices doing stuff, and it carefully balancing which ones get to go first) is exactly what causes your gaming trouble. When the counterstrike packet is ready, you get to wait in line for a firestick and your...
Depends on your model of router. I needed to turn flowcache off on my RT-AX56U routers and up. Only then would they classify all traffic, and give good results during heavy load. Also had to set an XBox a bit lower so that game downloads didn't get prioritized as high as VOIP.
I have been experimenting with WireGuard recently as well. I take it that the "Access Intranet" toggle doesn't do much when launching the server in Merlin firmware? Or is that basically a toggle for whether to send all traffic through the tunnel or not? AKA "access local printers, plus WireGuard...
AMTM used to tell you not to install entware separately and instead to install it through Diversion if you were going to install that. So you'd press 1 and it would then prompt to install it. Since I haven't set up a new router in a while, I was used to the old method. The new method is you...
Hey, I'm setting up a new RT-AX86U router somewhere, and AMTM doesn't seem to want to let me install any scripts.
I plugged in a flashdrive, turned on jffs custom scripts and ssh, switched to USB2 mode, ssh'd in, formatted the USB to ext4, got swap set up, configured email settings for alerts...
