    Release ASUS RT-AX59U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33965 (2025/10/23)

Yes, that should work. It did for me, and I know it did for others as well. But a word of caution though; using old firmware might pose a secirity risk.

    Release ASUS TUF-AX4200 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33965 (2025/10/23)

I really wanted to like this router. But during my time with it, asus has screwed up regularly with the firmware updates. E.g., once they pushed out an update that rendered ipads and chromecasts unable to connect to wifi. A week or so after, they - rightly - pulled the firmware from the site and...

    Release ASUS TUF-AX4200 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33965 (2025/10/23)

That does indeed sound like the same issue. If you have the chance, you could try hooking up via cable to see if the problems are still there; if they're not - meaning the problems are only noticeable on wifi - I'd say it's almost certain the firmware bug in action.

    Release ASUS TUF-AX4200 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33965 (2025/10/23)

@supermetroid I don't have the exact same model router as you, but nevertheless one that seems to be suffering from the exact same issues. And, no, my issues weren't fixed with the latest 33965 update; I think I updated the router in the evening and saw no problems, but in the morning, 7-8...

    Release ASUS TUF-AX4200 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33965 (2025/10/23)

I'm sorry you are having these problems on your newly-purchased router. As you might have gathered by now, the problems began with the 339xx branch of the firmware, the first of which was released back in March 2025. I have a RT-AX59U, afaik based on the same chipset as the AX4200, and before...

    Release ASUS RT-AX59U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33965 (2025/10/23)

How long have you been running the 965 firmware? Because while I don't recall seeing the problems on my own phone in the timespan of several hours in the course of a day I used 965, some other clients reported seeing the same issues, even when not having been informed that I did the upgrade. I...

    Release ASUS RT-AX59U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33965 (2025/10/23)

I seen the same problems with my AX59U on the latest 965 firmware, e.g. intermittent problems with web pages that didn't seem to load, and problems casting via Chromecast. I've had a bumpy ride with this router all along, but the broken experience since march, which lasted (and is lasting)...

    Release ASUS TUF-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33950 (2025/10/01)

Interesting indeed! Come to think of it, I may actually have experienced the same behavior back when I used an external VPN service on my phone on wifi. But for other reasons I started always being connected to the VPN provided by the asus router, and since then - with the problematic firmware...

    Release ASUS TUF-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33950 (2025/10/01)

@UltrashRicco Yeah I suppose something is different about the AX6000. Fingers crossed for another firmware soon 🤞

    Release ASUS TUF-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33950 (2025/10/01)

@UltrashRicco Yes, you are correct - my router model is the RT-AX59U Things looked fine last night after I had updated, but the same old problems started showing when I came home from work. Luckily the process of rolling back is managable so I'm right back at 407 where things work as...

    Release ASUS TUF-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33950 (2025/10/01)

Thanks a bunch! I can see there are some differences to my own settings - which are almost as out of the box. I might try one last stab at the 950 firmware where I set up things like in your screenshots.

    Release ASUS TUF-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33950 (2025/10/01)

Interesting! I feel like you would have experienced problems by now if the firmware was affected by the loading bug. May I ask if you are running any special settings that you could point to that would somehow eliminate the bug?

    Release ASUS RT-AX59U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33950 (2025/09/09)

@KrypteX I'm sorry if it might have felt like I was attacking you somehow; I wasn't, I was merely a bit frustrated. Your input is greatly appreciated, and I do believe that I could have probably been well up and running with openWRT with the time and energy I've spent being frustrated with Asus...

    Release ASUS RT-AX59U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33950 (2025/09/09)

Well, I can. I have no idea of the scope of the task of setting up something custom on my router. What if something breaks the router? How long will the process take, i.e. how long will I have to go without internet access? What if there are incompatibilities with some of my devices? What...

    Release ASUS RT-AX59U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33950 (2025/09/09)

I have been looking forward to this update, thinking that this would be the version where the previous WIFI connection problems introduced in March would be fixed. I was especially hopeful considering the line in the changelog specifically mentioning "Connection Stability". Not so much. Having...
