    Thanks, Brandon. Yep, I sure have set Win 8.1 to use Outlook a/c for login and the turning off password protected sharing did the trick. Thanks.

    Hello, I've just got a new Win8.1 laptop and am trying to connect to it from my Linux Mint 15 PC but am being asked to enter a password (pls see attached image, where amaan is the name of my Win8.1 laptop and lenovo-fk is the user a/c on my Linux Mint PC from where I'm trying to connect)...
