Which 3rd party dns filters do you use?

What would you suggest then on top of Control D dns and ublock origin on PC (Adguard on phone)? I also do have BitDefender Total Security running on the computers.

Which 3rd party dns filters do you use?

By protection, I was primarily focused on ad blocking rather than malware/virus/ddos/etc protection.

Which 3rd party dns filters do you use?

I always thought the best protection was 2 layered. First at dns level and second at browser level. Isn't that still the best approach to block majority of ads? I do worry about false positives though. On dns layer, false positives can cause hell.

Which 3rd party dns filters do you use?

I recently got Control D dns and want to filter out ads/malware/phishing. I want to set it and forget so want to minimize false positives. I also want to minimize overlap of filters. Here's the filters I have chosen so far: Any ideas if any overlap? Are there any that might be worth...

News Here we go. Qualcomm announces Wi-Fi 7 chipset

So it's pretty much a benefit for inter-network connections (intranet)? Such as for data transfers to/from NAS, to/from IP security cams, etc. For data transfer and connections outside of the network (which is the vast majority of the traffic), you will still be limited by isp internet speeds...

News Here we go. Qualcomm announces Wi-Fi 7 chipset

Don't you need a fast enough net to actually take advantage of wifi 7? The average US household doesn't even hit 50 Mbps. The upper echelon of net speed in USA is 1gbps for the consumer internet plans. Commercial internet, ofc, is an exception for companies and other businesses. I don't really...

    Breaking Newes. Newegg Scandal.

I used to buy all of my electronics from Newegg going back to the early 2000s, and they used to be great. I never had a single issue. However, I stopped using Newegg altogether when they got sold some years ago. The quality as a whole has significantly decreased since, and I don't feel...

    Best ASUS router right now?

Unless if you are willing to wait for wireguard, which I believe will be able to use multiple cores at the same time. And get much faster speeds. (still in beta testing though)

Best alternative addons to AIProtection on AX86U?

After some searching, Unbound seems to do the same thing as DNS providers but on the router. Is it a hassle to setup? Does it use a lot of router processing power? I'm probably going to install diversion. What level of ad blocking do you use, and do you find that it occasionally blocks certain...

Best alternative addons to AIProtection on AX86U?

    2) That could be problematic if it has false positives. I'm not a huge fan of going hunting why something got blocked. For others reading this - is this something you also experienced in your usage with Skynet? I would be curious if it's a common issue. 4) Yeah, I can probably max out my net...

Best alternative addons to AIProtection on AX86U?

I will look into NextDNS. I do see it costs money ($2/mo) though over 300k searches. I don't know how many searches are done in my household each month. Do you know what happens after it reaches 300k and I don't pay? Does it revert to some other dns? I will install skynet tonight when I get...

Best alternative addons to AIProtection on AX86U?

I set up my new AX86U & w/ Merlin firmware, and I'm withdrawing from the TrendMicro agreement due to not knowing exactly what information they collect. I eventually plan on connecting the AX86u to VPN, but that's a bit down the road when Wireguard becomes standard in future stable firmware. I...

    Asus AX82U vs AX92U vs AX68U

I'm not a fan of QoS tbh. I used to have it on years ago then realized it was slowing down traffic. It's meant to solve bottlenecks, but it was doing the exact opposite. It's possible I didn't set it up properly, but I decided to just turn it off altogether & save the headaches it was giving. I...

    Asus AX82U vs AX92U vs AX68U

I just ordered it after price match. Scratch off the AX68u! Thanks! Instead of opting for 15% off by bringing in networking device (I don't have another old router I could find - definitely not giving away my AC68u for only $38), I instead saw on slickdeals that you can use Chase freedom and...
