Solved AC86U USB not reading 5 volts

I got around into unsoldering the CD143A (3rd time) and IT76630M, remeasured the resistors; it is of the correct values for R1 & R2, 45.2kΩ & 9.84kΩ respectively! Then i resoldered another sample of IT76630M, and it now outputs 5V (pin3)! FeedBack (pin5) correctly reads 0.925V instead of 3.24V...

Solved AC86U USB not reading 5 volts

Ah yes, I actually tested the ceramic caps but none were shorted👍. I re-traced and tested resistance for the components around IT76630M as attached. My multimeter doesn't have capacitance mode, and at this point I'm learning as I go along. All caps are grounded except for the one connecting pin...

Solved AC86U USB not reading 5 volts

Hi again👋 I bought a CD143A (5V) and resoldered it, obviously it fried again upon power on. So, i traced the REF pin (4) of the CD143A onto pin 3 (Output?) of IT76630M Step-down converter. Decided to buy and replace the IT76640M as well, but the TVS got burnt again too! (pin 3 of IT76640M is...

Solved AC86U USB not reading 5 volts

Cool, i'll try to get the TVS in 5V, nothing to loose. Anyways do you know which component can i probe for the step-down convertor? I don't really have an electronics background. Thanks!

Solved AC86U USB not reading 5 volts

Upon further probing, both USB2 and USB3 is reading 18~V! Think i found the culprit, with a burnt mark just above the USB2. Anybody knows what is 'D2' component?

Solved AC86U USB not reading 5 volts

Hi all👋 Recently managed to revive my AC86U by replacing MT3125. It was working well for 5mths~ till I noticed the USB storage isn't detecting and my connected 5V fan is spinning 'louder'. Tested the USB voltage (both 2.0 & 3.0) and it is not reading 5V, more like 10V~, and obviously fried my...

'Initializing the settings of OpenVPN' message in Export button

Hi All, Once in a while, "Initializing the settings of OpenVPN.." shows up on VPN Server > Export config file. I would have thought this has been resolved from 2020 (albeit slight different message), on a different hardware, AX86U 388.4 Although No errors for client(s) connecting, and the...

Solved Create new client certs with existing CA (on-router)

Hey Just realised my thread was moved from VPN to Merlin, wonder why?. Anyways THANK you for the tip! Yes i did those steps and client certs generated successfully! (Of course vars needed to be edit to your own _CN _NAME etc). This thread would useful for those who wants to generate client...

Solved Create new client certs with existing CA (on-router)

Hi all👋 Currently my OpenVPN Server1 is up. Without going the EasyRSA3 on-another-machine route and re-generating new certs/PKI hoo-ha, how can I generate per-client certs on-the-router itself with the existing certs? What I know: 1) I can setuprsa.sh /mnt/sda1 2) I know the current...

Server cert doesn't match exported .ovpn cert

Apparently it is still happening, but i'm ignoring it as clients can still connect. Not sure if it is the OpenVPN implmentation or router's firmware :/ I'm still on 384.16 though, have not update to 384.17.

Server cert doesn't match exported .ovpn cert

Yea no problems connecting actually. The message will be gone upon reboot or restarting of VPN server. I didn't try notepad++ thou, just the windows notepad and ctrl+shift+v just to be sure no formatting is pasted. Yea noticed this on 384.15. Yup if reboot and export a fresh .ovpn only the...

Server cert doesn't match exported .ovpn cert

Hi all, Once in a while "Certification Authentication / Server certification / Server Key field error! Please check the Keys and Certification contents on the Advanced Settings page." comes out under VPN Server > Export config file area. Restarting VPN server clears this. I found out the...

    DNS-over-TLS causes 'Disconnected' on reboot

ahh. Now DoT works after reboot. So we do have to specify a 'regular' DNS under Wan DNS Settings.

    DNS-over-TLS causes 'Disconnected' on reboot

I meant port 443 DNS addresses: and yep double checked it to No: cat /etc/resolv.conf nameserver 127.0.1.1

    DNS-over-TLS causes 'Disconnected' on reboot

Tried, nah still 'Disconnected' after reboot. Just noticed this only happens for port 443 DNS addresses.. doesn't matter Yes or No for 'WAN: Use local caching'
