I am also a little baffled that the time this went on for was 6 or so minutes. Isn't that a little long?
With also being moved to a new IP range all together could they have been moving lines over? Or am I over thinking it?
Hi All,
Noticed that my IP address changed last night just after 1am (The times on the log are 1hr+ as the router has already applied DST)
Asus RT-AC86U
Log:
Mar 21 02:03:35 pppd[980]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets

It's just the thought of no control and if the update turned out to have an issue (I know this can happen if you apply it but at least it's your own doing).
Not only that if it done the update and reboot mid session and not at an idle time that would also not be good.
Just too many issues for...
Thanks,
So for example if I downgraded to say 3.0.0.4.384.21140 - The RT-AC86U router would not auto update back to the latest? It would be down to me to make the next move either by updating manually or leaving it?
Anyone else in regards to uptime with the 86U please?
My N66U i could leave up constantly it felt. Never had much need to reboot it. Infact I usually used to promt a reboot once in a blue moon just because I felt it needed it. The 86U doesn't give me that impression at this stage. Hope I am...
Many thanks,
Oh thank goodness for that. I have seen it mentioned in a few forums around the web and it had me concerned. - - How comes some are suggesting it does auto firmware updates?
Does anyone know what the most stable version of FW is for the 86U. I see a few people either held onto or...
Hi,
I didn't think that would work on the 86U as it automatically updates to the latest firmware?
Am I missing something? I was under the impression that ASUS force the latest firmware on this router?
Someone let me know as I also own this same router currently.
So you are on the latest ASUS stock firmware?
How long is the uptime out of curiosity ?
Have you had any random reboots with the latest stock firmware?
