Asus AiMesh with wired access point headache, out of my mind, angry

Also, might force a System Reboot from the Web UI on the primary router. Let's make all of the bits are singing from the same sheet of music. Then take a "Chill Pill". All of the Asus devices involved here like to take their good old sweet time about settling in after changes.

Uhhh...Switch port 1, or WAN port? Mesh node ethernet should be connected to WAN port.

Is there any way to get dual band to work correctly?

In my situation, Smart Connect works well. I found that when the "master" router is allowed to automatically search for the best channel, the router induced channel switches "Confused" my IoT devices. By setting a manual channel and bandwidth on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, and allowing Smart...

Is there any way to get dual band to work correctly?

Sir, Here is what I had to do to my "Problem Child" Doorbell to get it to connect reliably. I opened DNS Director and set the MAC address for the doorbell to use CloudFlare DNS at 1.0.0.2. That helped that device until they reciently updated their firmware. If your current DNS provider's...

Is there any way to get dual band to work correctly?

This is where we are going to diverge. I am running AsusWRT-Merlin 3004.388.4_0 firmware. In my UI the DNS Director is located in: LAN > DNS Director tab.

Is there any way to get dual band to work correctly?

If I may, can you tell me what DNS service you are using, and does your UI version have "DNS Director"?

Is there any way to get dual band to work correctly?

Hmm.... Must be hardware specific. I am running DualBand with the same SSID and a IoT net with a seperate SSID that is very stable. That said, it took several months of tinkering to get stability, but it works for me. The OP may want to see if there are firmware updates for the devices that are...

Is there any way to get dual band to work correctly?

You might try these settings for your 2.4 wireless settings. I am running a RT-AX88U Pro and Merlin Firmware, so these settings may not be applicable to your setup. However, it is worth a try. Good Luck.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.3 is now available for the RT-AX88U_Pro

Add one more successful and uneventful update. Thanks @RMerlin.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 388.2 Beta is now available for Wifi 6 models

Ditto! My modest internet and WiFi requirements are more than satisfied by a RT-AX3000 (V1) Gateway and RT-AX56U Mesh node. It will be most disappointing to see Merlin support dropped for these devices. Again, many thanks for your herculean efforts.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

I am running a RT-AX3000 (AkA AX58U) with a 10.10.10.x IP and a 255.255.255.128 Subnet Mask that works quite well. I might suggest that you have a weird setting in your subnet mask or other IP configuration errors.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

Dirty update from 386.7_2 to 388.1 on RT-AX3000 (aka RT-AX58U). Also updated mesh node RT-AX56U to 388.1. All went well until I noticed that on the web UI Network Status my CPU status was not showing any activity on the 3rd core. I checked the status from my cell phone app, and it displays...
