Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.84SF

Hi All, I just installed Voxel for the first time on my R7800. So far having two problems. The major one is on my home server which has a fixed IP allocation. It no longer seems to be able to access websites. I also can’t open Plex, Sonarr or Sabnzbd locally on the machine. VNC access to the...

Advice: Best merlin compatible router for adaptive QoS but not using Wi-fi

Sorry, meant adaptive - ie cake and Flex. Sounds like the AC86 may be the better cost then as cost is lower.

Advice: Best merlin compatible router for adaptive QoS but not using Wi-fi

Thanks both. Very helpful. Does anyone know if the dynamic QoS implementations on the router can take advantage of those extra CPU horsepower?

Advice: Best merlin compatible router for adaptive QoS but not using Wi-fi

Do you know if there is likely to be a significant performance hit when using the QoS with 600/40 internet? And if so, would one of the other router models be a better choice? I could go with a custom pfsense box but that’s a lot of complication I’d rather avoid!

Advice: Best merlin compatible router for adaptive QoS but not using Wi-fi

Hi All I am moving to a new property where I plan to use TP Link omada access points. I need to add a router (which doesn’t need to provide Wi-fi). I am looking for a router that can minimise bufferbloat without much tinkering - and it looks like Merlin firmware with adaptive QoS can provide...

ZenWiFi XT8 - iPhones connected to Wi-fi but no internet

I will be returning my 3 units. Problems are endless and not limited to Apple devices. Real shame as performance is good. Will try Eero Pro. Fed up of having to tinker

    ZenWifi XT8 AX Access Problem

Interesting to see if this resolves the issues. After a terrible week including the main router also having issues during important WFH time I had decided to switch back to my old kit this weekend and then get something older and more stable such as Eero Pro. Quite frankly at this point I’m more...

ZenWiFi XT8 - iPhones connected to Wi-fi but no internet

Turning on and off Wi-fi on my devices hasn’t fixed it. I’ve not needed to turn off the router, just the node (though yesterday I did have an issue where the router showed a red light but unclear why). Still not got around to full system reset, others using Wi-fi constantly.

    Formatting single partition using router

Ah, thank you. When I had formatted as ext4 via PC it did mount OK on the router. I may give formatting locally a try but it does seem silly that it’s necessary to SSH in to the router to get things like this to work...

ZenWiFi XT8 - iPhones connected to Wi-fi but no internet

Interestingly had the issue on a laptop today - one that’s not moved around the house st all so shouldn’t have been switching off the satellite. So frustrating! Will try factory reset.

    Formatting single partition using router

Thanks all for the suggestions. No Merlin for XT8. Surprising how difficult getting advertised features to work is! Unfortunately my XT8s seem to be full of problems...

    Formatting single partition using router

Thank you. Don’t know how I missed that tab. It’s enabled. Will try formatting to HFS+ on Mac again and then give up if it doesn’t work... don’t want to risk messing up my other partitions by trying to format using router and more important to have a time machine that works.
