RP-AX58 for AiMesh has some serious flaws

I have two 56's and two 58's. The 56's just work. Bridge, extender or AiMesh...they just work. The 58's do OK as a bridge for me but you'll be babysitting for anything else. Really disappointed that firmware updates have been few and far between. For the minimal supposed benefits, it just...

AiMesh Nodes intermittently disconnect and then reconnect at random

Happy to hear it is working again. I doubt ASUS will see this thread but you could use the Feedback feature at the very bottom of the router's administration page to let them know.

AiMesh Nodes intermittently disconnect and then reconnect at random

They just updated the firmware on the 89X in late October. You could rollback to the previous firmware, run it for awhile and see if it is any better. If nothing else, it could tell you if they broke something in this latest update or rule it out if it keeps disconnecting.

RT-AX88U - WIFI networks no longer working.

Have you tried a hard reset? 1. Turn the router off. 2. Press and hold the "WPS" button and turn the router on. 3. Power light is on (keep holding the WPS button). 4. Release the WPS button after the power light is off. 5. Reboot your router by manually pressing the power button.

Can't block clients from connecting to a mesh node

I think binding and roaming block only affect what the router & nodes do but the actual devices can jump to other nodes on their own without being prompted by the router.

Does binding a device to a node in AiMesh actually do anything?

Actually, devices will still switch nodes on their own. This just stops the router from doing it. It is definitely not a "hard" binding.

Does binding a device to a node in AiMesh actually do anything?

I settled on using a combination of one aimesh node for things that I want to roam & two RP-AX56's with their own SSID's (ground floor and basement) for devices that I need to lock on to one area. Overly complicated but works very well.

Asus ET12 mesh vs MyQ HomeKit garage door

Have you tried a 2.4 guest network? Some devices can't stay connected with SmartConnect, even with the mac filter. Using a guest network can help.

Mine did not. Plug was fixed & not swappable.

    Multiple sporadic reboot

I think RMA is your only option. Even that doesn't guarantee it isn't a design/firmware issue. I don't know how the average person does it. And it's not like you can spend more & solve issues. In many ways, spending more puts you on the cutting edge and introduces more issues.

    Multiple sporadic reboot

I had same issue on an AX89X. Disabling AiProtection solved it. No idea if it will for you but worth a try.

    RT-AX88U Slow Wifi signal/speed - Activate Aimesh

Did you do a reset on the 86? To add a node to AiMesh, the router needs to be totally at defaults. Use paper clip to hold down reset in back about 10 seconds. After that, the 88 should be able to find it & create the AiMesh.

RP-AX58 for AiMesh has some serious flaws

And the one that I'm using as a media bridge works good other than the weird flashing LED. But for wireless mesh, both that I tried were too unreliable to use & the 56 in the same outlet is rock solid.

RP-AX58 for AiMesh has some serious flaws

I think a true router with multiple external antennas will probably do better than an extender almost always but you have the spouse acceptance factor. Seems like the sleek rectangle with no antennas is easier to hide.

RP-AX58 for AiMesh has some serious flaws

I have messed around with my two too long and missed my return window so I'm just writing them off and getting two more 56's. The things I have noticed.... 1) Like you, the LED always flashes blue in bridge mode. Not a big deal but not expected behavior 2) The site survey for 5Mhz simply...
