Asus BT10 - still not stable at all even after latest firmware - been tinkering for months - high frustration

I had lots of problems with a GT98, my Sonos gear refused to work properly over WiFi with it, all problems went when I changed to an Orbi 970, single router no satellites.

RT-BE86U - how to disable Smart connect?

Out of interest, the people having issues, do you have to specify a VLAN for your fibre to connect? The only thing that really happened at the same time as getting a newer ASUs router was changing ISP. Other weird stuff also occurred when specifying a VLAN under IPTV such as the 2.5Gb WAN/LAN...

RT-BE86U - how to disable Smart connect?

There’s fairly serious device compatibility issues with the BE Asus routers, I couldn’t get my Sonos gear to work properly using wireless at all, worked fine wired using SonosNet. Didn’t matter which band I used, or which security type, the IoT network etc, nothing would make it work. Worked...

    Release ASUS GT-BE98 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36852 - 2024/10/04

It worked fine a a LAN before I changed my ISP which requires a VLAN setting to work and then it stopped working as a LAN.

    Release ASUS GT-BE98 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36852 - 2024/10/04

The 2.5Gb WAN/LAN doesn’t give an IP when using a VLAN ID on any release I’ve used.

    Release ASUS GT-BE98 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36852 - 2024/10/04

It's not there and the LAN port still doesn't function with VLAN tagging set for IPTV.

    Wifi 7 pointless

Those speeds are perfectly capable on just 160MHz channels on the 5GHz channel. Don’t need MLO for those speeds. I can get 1600/1600 on 6E which doesn’t max out my ISP speeds which are 2500/2500.

    Release ASUS GT-BE98 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36852 - 2024/10/04

It shows only your main SSID not your MLO SSID.

    Release ASUS GT-BE98 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36852 - 2024/10/04

From what I can see from testing it lets you enable MLO on your main SSID rather have having to run a separate one. Though you seem to have to disable the 5GHz-1 band for this to work properly.

    Release ASUS GT-BE98 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36852 - 2024/10/04

Wonder what’s changed my 16 Pro on previous firmware would max at around 1500-1700.

But didn't they say they were adding AFC to their previously released WiFi 7 routers?

ASUS GT-BE98 Pro any new Firmware

I hope they are also working on the buggy WiFi, I’ve had occasions on reboot where devices won’t authenticate the password, times where the 2.4GHz radio just failed to broadcast, the 2.5Gb port won’t work as a LAN when you set a vlan under iptv, so many annoying bugs. Which is a shame as when...

GT-BE98(Pro) LAN/WAN 1 not working if VLAN ID is specified in IPTV for WAN

I'm actually running the latest stock firmware so I don't believe it's a Gnuton bug at all. Fixed dual WAN and VLAN 4094 IoT issues. Doesn't appear to fix the issue either. I can't use my 2.5Gb Wan/Lan port as a Lan when specifying a VLAN for my ISP.
