    Connected Switches Keep Disconnecting

Went back and re-read that! 😂 It turn out that the port I thought might be giving me issues isn't even the one the switch was plugged into, so I've checked all four ports on the router and all are functioning properly. I've replaced the cable and will test for a while to see if it pops up...

    Connected Switches Keep Disconnecting

I suppose I could also simply change which port I'm using on the back of the router, too, come to think of it... Never tried that.

    Connected Switches Keep Disconnecting

Got it... I've changed absolutely no settings, ever, and the devices connected to the switch will lose network connection, requiring me to power-cycle the switch to get them back. There doesn't appear to be anything odd happening in the router's logs, so at first I thought it had to be a switch...

    Connected Switches Keep Disconnecting

Sorry, but I have no idea what "LAGging' means... The lights on each port look to be doing nothing different when things are disconnecting and their doesn't seem to be any devices going on or off when the issue occurs.

    Connected Switches Keep Disconnecting

That's not an option and wouldn't explain the issue persisting with the "non-green" TP-Link switch...

    Connected Switches Keep Disconnecting

Thanks for the ideas... I've already tried different ports, which didn't solve the issue; I've never changed any LAN settings nor are there any addon scripts being used. The power supplies are all good as per my multimeter and there are no other electronic devices with any issues. Similarly...

    Connected Switches Keep Disconnecting

I am having an issue with devices connected to my Asus RT-AX86U (running Asuswrt-Merlin firmware 3004.388.9_2) through a hardwired unmanaged network switch randomly disconnecting and needing me to power-cycle the switch to bring them back. I have two different switches that I've used to...

    Did Upgrade Reset Admin Password?

Ah... That makes _a lot_ more sense! Thanks for clarifying. Sounds like I can go back to my Merlin install. Much appreciated!

    Did Upgrade Reset Admin Password?

It was indicated above that there was a malware issue with that release; did I misunderstand the post?

    Did Upgrade Reset Admin Password?

Does anyone have a sense of when the Merlin version will be cleaned up? I've discovered that the official Asus firmware does not allow NFS mounting and that's a necessity for me...

    Did Upgrade Reset Admin Password?

Thanks, everyone, for all the suggestions. I "solved" the issue by putting the router into "Recovery Mode" and eventually had success flashing the latest official firmware from Asus itself. Both the latest asus-wrt & immediately previous release failed to flash via commands run from my Linux...

    Did Upgrade Reset Admin Password?

Thanks for that... How would I have an old copy of save settings? I've never thought to back that up in the past. The chances of this being malware is very low.

    Did Upgrade Reset Admin Password?

I recently went from 3004.388.8_2 to 3004.388.8_4 on my Asus RT-AX86U router and my admin password, which I can verify is correct, no longer allows me to log in to the router. Two questions: Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get into the router? Thanks for the...

Mount command syntax for a SMB2 share

Any specific way to do that or just delete the stuff I posted here?
