I initially wired our PC, that’s near the router, to the 2.5G/1G LAN port (LAN 5) and even though the PC could only connect at 1G everything seemed to work fine. However, I noticed in the router log that whenever we turned the PC on and it connected there would an entry in the log stating...
@bennor, Thank you for your response! I suspect then that the same is true for the AX88 Pro! You've saved me from going through the headache of a new full setup and troubleshooting. I wonder why it was removed?
@RMerlin, I decided to give the RT-AX88U Pro a try and followed the firmware update process I’ve always used without issue and updated the router’s firmware from the ASUS original (3.0.0.4.388.21915) to Merlin’s 388.3_0. The update over a wired connection went smoothly, so I once again did a...
Thanks, @RMerlin for your reply, you're right, it's always a hit/miss on hardware revisions/upgrades. I just like to go with the latest in case there is an under the radar fix for an issue with the initial design release!
Does anyone know what the revision number is for this new hardware release? I just bought a new RT-AX88U Pro and if it isn't the latest hardware revision I'd like to send it back before I open the box. Mine is marked Hardware Version 1.0. Thanks!
RMerlin; thank you very much for your response; it is very much appreciated!!! No problem, since I've never encountered a hiccup with your Firmware I thought I should mention the two anomalies. I was running your 380.68_4 before flashing to this release, so I didn't see any of the issues...
I updated my RT-AC88U today with the 382.1 Firmware and this is the first time that I’ve noticed any out of the ordinary indications. I always reset to default and establish a basic configuration before upgrading to a new firmware. After the Router is updated with new firmware, I perform a reset...
arrow201; you're welcome, good luck!!!
Since re-enabling UPnP my NAS Drives have hung in there, go figure!!!! I'm tempted to retry 9529 and see if turning off or turning off/on UPnP stabilizes things. If I do, I'll report back with the results.
arrow201; I flashed the ASUS 380_2695 beta firmware today to see if it had the same issue I’ve observed with my two Western Digital 1TB MyBookLive NAS Drives; which I started experiencing with the 378_9460 and 378_9529 official releases, but unfortunately it has the same problem.
However...
I flashed the ASUS 380_2695 beta firmware today to see if it fixed the issue I’ve observed with my two Western Digital 1TB MyBookLive NAS Drives; which I started experiencing with the 378_9460 and 378_9529 official releases, but unfortunately it has the same problem. This problem wasn’t present...
Unfortunately, I have the same issue with 3.0.0.4.378_9529 firmware as I experienced beginning with 3.0.0.4.378_9460. This problem wasn’t present in Firmware Release 3.0.0.4.378_9383 or earlier. I’ve observed this problem on both of my Windows 10 home computers (one wired & one wireless 5GHz...
I experienced a very strange problem with this Official ASUS Firmware Release (3.0.0.4.378_9460 downloaded on 12/28) when I updated my RT-AC87U. The problem was observed on two of my three Windows 10 home computers (one wired & one wireless 5GHz connections); I didn’t try the third computer that...
LOL, I knew I'd get blamed! :( :D
I download from the Windows 10 64 bit menu, but I see 9460 is no longer listed.
However, I agree with you, I don't plan to take a chance and flash the version I downloaded. I was just curious to see what file size would actually be downloaded and what version...
