Excellent news! thanks for the link.
And that also explains why I had some devices waking up! never made the connection and was attributing that to IT gremlins... ;o)
Just to add to that... thanks for the info, it confirms it isn't malicious... yet I still find it weird. As a router, why would it need to do some kind of active scanning (ping or HTTP requests) to find out what is connected to it?it would be more logical to look at data already stored/passing...
Hi,
I have an AC87U running Merlin Firmware 378.56_2
I am running 2x IDS on my network (One Suricata based and one Snort based), in the past month I have noticed an IDS alert that originate from my ASUS router and directed to my internal server.
I have only noticed it because some of my...
Thanks for that! very useful :)
I couldn't see anything wrong with the output... I am fairly sure something has changed in the last few Merlin Firmware with NAT.
Will have to experiment a bit more!
Hum... people seem to have issues with NAT...
The above issue is also realted to NAT but get "fixed" when turning off the Firewall...
Same issue?

Hi,
I posted an issue 2 days ago, I thought it was related to a Firewall bug. Could it be the same NAT issue?
In my case, switching ASUS/Merlin NAT does not make any difference. Only switching off the Firewall all together does...

John9527,
I just wanted to say thank you for your script. I heard of it a while back (asking for a mass DHCP entry feature) but never got around to test it.
Today, I finally took the plunge and tried a factory reset with a backup/restore from your script.

Thanks for the script, I guess this is something I will need to run everytime the router reboots? or just once?
There is probably an RTFM somewhere on that topic ;)
Thanks for the quick answer, and fair enough!
Although this is not necessarily for the business market, this would actually be useful for a medium size home network. Even with just 20 devices that would be useful and make a factory reset less painful. You very quickly reach that number (and...
Hi Everyone,
Not sure how to request new feature for the awesome ASUSWRT from Merlin, so before sending him directly an email I thought I would post something here... especially if what I am about to ask is already possible! :)
I am using reserved DHCP IP addresses to assign specific IP...
WIFI 5G problem with 378.50
Following up on the post I wrote a few days ago I can confirm that I have a problem with the 378.50 build on the WIFI 5G network.
Everything works fine on 2G but with the 5G, clients randomly loose connection to the internet whilst still remaining connected to WIFI...
