    R7800 lost 5GHz SSID :(

I purchased my R7800 in October 2016 and working as perfect as the day I installed it. No issues here (just to offer a positive data point). I have a second R7800 I purchased in April 2000 (set up as access point in our garage) and is also running without hiccups.

    Remotely connect to home?

I should have mentioned. I am on Voxel’s latest firmware, if that helps.

    Remotely connect to home?

Just curious if anyone can point me in the right direction. I’d love to be able to use more of the functionality of my router (R7800). I assume I can use my router as a “server” and access it via VPN client on my devices while traveling so that Netflix, Amazon, etc. thinks I am on my home...

Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.94SF

Both of my r7800s have been running smoothly on .94.1. As always, thanks!!!

Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.94SF

Of course! I haven't had an issue in over 2 dozen Voxel releases either. I just wasn't understanding the issue with the language pack. Thanks for clarifying!

Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.94SF

So…. It safe to use V1.0.2.94.1SF, correct? Thank you all for the support. This is the only reason my two R7800s are still going strong!

What’s the next router to consider?

The newer NG Orbi routers support multi-gig (2.5gb) on the WAN port.

What’s the next router to consider?

Agreed. This is why I’m anticipating which NG routers voxel will support moving forward :)

What’s the next router to consider?

Clearly, I want to stay in the Voxel infrastructure. What would be the next router to consider? Netgear Orbi? With the growing number of devices, IoT, the fact we have 1.2gb speed internet at home now, etc. My two R7800s are still doing great and humming along, but, I know I’m not too far...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.80SF & v. 1.0.2.80.4SF & v. 1.0.2.80.5SF

Ha! It seems I did. Sorry for trying to cheat the system :) Like I said, I know just enough to be dangerous! Here's my results from my 7800 in router mode: Doing aes-256 cbc for 3s on 16 size blocks: 9985083 aes-256 cbc's in 2.94s Doing aes-256 cbc for 3s on 64 size blocks: 2923152 aes-256...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.80SF & v. 1.0.2.80.4SF & v. 1.0.2.80.5SF

I wish I knew :) I am using Cat 6a cable directly connected to router and we have gigabit (Xfinity) speed.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.80SF & v. 1.0.2.80.4SF & v. 1.0.2.80.5SF

Just out of curiosity. what does this tell us? I am posting my results (this is from my MacBook that is hardwired to my R7800 using .80 Voxel FW), just for science :) The 'numbers' are in 1000s of bytes per second processed. type 16 bytes 64 bytes 256 bytes 1024 bytes...

Release Netgear R7800 firmware release 1.0.2.74

Or Voxel and Kamoj secretly work for netgear :)

    R7800 Temperature

Mine would always hover around 72 degrees C. I just propped up my router on two supports (to allow airflow around the sides and now it is down to 64 degrees C. I'm fine with that.
