Can connect thru switch, can't thru wall cable

I assume you mean use Ipconfig at command line? When I do so, I receive a LAN IP address of 192.168.2.8. When I then try to ping the router IP address, it times out.

Can connect thru switch, can't thru wall cable

I am attempting to set up whole-home cabling with Cat5e cables. Strung & connected them myself. Thru a connection from router to remote switch, I can successfully connect to the internet via a switch, but when I attempt to connect that switch up to the in-wall Cat5e cables I've strung I cannot...
