I would say it's finicky. Mine took several tries for it to eventually stick. Eventually I was able to get it to stick at 320Mhz. I don't believe I have any interference around either. All of mine said SP mode available as well.

How can I deny a single device? I can't seem to find MAC filtering anywhere in the Web GUI. I have a single rogue device that keeps trying to connect. It appears to be a Tuya device which I'm not sure I even have. I've seen other discussions on this.
