Started in Computer related development, in NYC, Year 1951. My first computer had tubes and a whopping 8K. The larger model had 16K. When we wrote programs we had to use "overlays", a technique where we had to to step on our previous code because there was so little memory. Needless to say, we used machine language. . I've seen a lot come & go, lol!
